A first look at the Dapol Hawthorn Leslie in OO.

I wasn’t sure what I would make of it, Hornby’s Pecketts, and Planet Industrial’s Kerr Stuart and Rapido’s Hunslet have set high standards for anyone else to meet. I have to say in my opinion this Dapol Hawthorn Leslie meets those standards. It’s a split chassis design with front axle compensation. This has real benefit for electrical conductivity and was seen previously in the Dapol B4.

It is an excellent addition to the industrial locomotives available in OO scale from various manufacturers. Well worth considering if you’re into industrial and light railways, I doubt you’ll be disappointed!
Well I must say I’m disappointed. I expected a description of the box, the chemical composition of the plastic sleeve, a career destroying critique of the designer’s ineptitude in the design, a withering dismissal of the colour, and a Clarksonesque reaction to the exorbitant price. Furthermore you’ve made no mention of the lack of working floggle-hitch, the inaccurate rendition of rivets on the snap box and no mention of optional oil leaks. You say you think I’ll like it eh? Did the Peterborough and Aberdeen junction Railway use these? Thought not. Nothing for me here. My wallet is safe. Now what we do need is a good Class 60.(😉 In case of doubt) (Paragraphs, you want paragraphs too? )
