This is a model of a Toronto (my home town) engine (ALCO S-2, built in October 1944)! She still exists, ready for restoration, at Toronto Railway Historical Association Roundhouse Park (the old CPR John Street Roundhouse). Here is a link;

Cheers!
Thanks for the info Rick, the True North is providing plenty of inspiration for a new layout. The colours up here are just on the change, some of the maples are unbelievable, people in the U.K. would find them implausible! The Rapido SW1200’s are calling!
Are you over this side of the pond? Sounds like you are having a colourful visit. The Rapido SW1200’s are creating a buzz – many railway modellers here are looking forward to them. Too late for me though. If you will be in the Toronto area and would like to see Fillmore, please let me know. Otherwise I wish you a very happy visit that doesn’t pass too quickly. I always enjoy your blog.
Rick, that’s an incredibly kind offer, thank you. This time over there’s unlikely to be time, fitting in Niagara before the weekend for eldest daughter who’s not seen it before. I’ll get in touch once back home, and if you’re ever in the Uk the offer is reciprocal :0)
